갑질 came from a document of legal contract. Literally, 갑(甲) is someone who makes a contract with some advantage and have right to order to someone. On the contrary 을(ueol) is someone who is subjected to 갑’s order on the contract.질 is post-fix which means “activity or doing”. These days, the meaning of 갑 is expanded and is used to indicate someone who has advantages in general situation.
